This summer Hunderfossen Themepark present “Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator”, built by Simworx. This is an experience for the whole family toghether, with well known characters from the Flåklypa (Pinchcliffe) universe. On board heavily themed, custom-made vehicles, visitors will be taken on a virtual journey from the top of Pinchcliffe through various obstacles and surprises. The screen is among the largest in Scandinavia; is curved and measures 16×5 metres. In front of it, we have 4 vehicles with many special functions.
Characters from the Pinchcliffe
The style is inspired by steampunk, and the theming is related to a crazy Norwegian inventor called Reodor Felgen. Reodor has two funny friends, named Solan and Ludvig. They are together also part of the greatest movie success in Norway; Flåklypa Grand Prix (Pinchcliffe Grand Prix with Il Tempo Gigante, more than 5,5 mill tickets sold in a country of 4,5 mill inhabitants…).
Our partnership with the owners of the IP behind Flåklypa started with construction of the Zierer roller coaster Il Tempo Extra Gigante back in 2014. It continued with a new moviebased attraction I 2019; Månelyst i Flåklypa. And reaches new heights this year with Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator, custom-made by Simworx.
Theme and storyline
The story is based upon invention and testing of a new and environment friendly fuel, powering a “hyperakselerator” that is a huge engine fixed on a tiny kick sleigh with wings and floats. The ride itself takes apx 5 minutes, and has many 4- and 5D effects. With each kick sleigh powered by a 6DOF Motion Platform, there will be a wide range of vehicle movements making the ride both smooth and adrenaline kicking ! The ride-movie is specially made for Hunderfossen by Qvisten – an award winning filmmaker. Theming in the attraction is designed and constructed by Farmer Attraction Development Ltd.
Among top 3 investments in the parks history
The grand total of the ride investment is 2,5 mill Euros (except the attraction building itself). The building is apx 400 sqm, with a ceiling height of 7 metres inside. For Hunderfossen Themepark with a yearly attendance of 250-300.000 guests, this is among our top 3 investments in our history, and we’re extra proud to release this attraction in the middle of a pandemic situation!
