Playhouse – for small trolls
Playhouse – for small trolls!
Summer 2016: Hunderfossen Family Park opened a new attraction for the youngest. Fantastic colours, music, soft shapes and a house where nothing stands still.
The Playhouse is centrally located near the Viewpoint Tower, at the heart of Hunderfossen Family Park. The Family Park has totally renovated the former Media Centre, and both the outside and inside areas are now perfect for the youngest of our visitors. Fascination, discovery and motor development are important key words in this year’s newest attraction and fit well in the park’s play-and-learn profile.
The 14 big and soft pieces of playground equipment that kids will meet in Norway’s Fairy-Tale Park are internationally popular. What makes them so special is that they are constantly moving: they turn and move forwards and backwards, up and down and all around, so that toddlers can boost their motor development. These playsets are also intended to develop children’s cognitive skills. In the Playhouse, you will find a mini cyclone, bouncing and dancing balls, a waterfall slide, monkey bars of different shapes, wavy and bumpy mattresses, climbing walls, dancing mats, turning discs, a hamster wheel and super cute merry-go-rounds.
No-shoe zone, art for children and specially made music The floor of the Playhouse is made of soft and allergy friendly EVA in funny colours. Here children take off their shoes and play safely in a dream world without any obstacles. Parents are welcome too and can sit and relax on big and comfortable cushions and benches during the course of a hectic day. Eirik Myrh, a well-known composer for children’s television programmes, has written the lively music of the Playhouse. The artist Michel Rey painted its walls.
500 square meters of indoor and outdoor fun
Just outside the entrance, there is a soft rubber playground where children can jump on cute and small trampolines. The Viewpoint Tower by the Playhouse has been renovated this year so that children of over 95 cm can play there. Just across this place, you will find the Troll’s Slingshot, a face-painting area and the Troll Stone. The Playhouse with its great indoor activities offers a good shelter in case the weather turns a bit bad and completes the popular Small Children’s Outdoor Area that Hunderfossen Family Park opened a couple of years ago.
