Inside Ivo Caprino’s Fairy-Tale Cave, under the huge troll, you will find one of Norway’s most special restaurants. Trollsalen is built by Ivo Caprino and Anders Huuse as Hunderfossen’s tribute to the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer. You will really feel like in a fairy tale!
Six huge trolls are holding the roof, and the walls are covered with sensational paintings that illustrate Asbjørnsen and Moe’s fairy tales. When you see the fire lit in the fireplace and the copper coffee pots, you know you are in for a treat!
The menu is made of ingredients that come from Norwegian rivers, forests and plains and is designed by our exceptional chef who is famous for combining innovation and creativity together with traditional recipes.
Trollsalen restaurant offers à la carte menu when the family park is open throughout the school holidays. Trollsalen is the cosiest food experience for both big and small in the summer and has dishes for all ages.
Outside the park’s opening time, both summer, winter, autumn and spring, Trollsalen is often used as banquet facilities for everything from small private gatherings, wedding and confirmation receptions to bigger business dinners – with or without dance and entertainment. When you book Trollsalen for a party, you will always get a guided tour and the possibility to visit one or more attractions and activities. Trollsalen can room 165 guests. Trollsalen is situated at a walking distance from Hunderfossen Hotel and Resort.
Trollsalen Restaurant has been awarded Norway’s best park restaurant in a food and park test by DHL in 2013! Comment from the test: “Hunderfossen had for sure the best restaurant, and Trollsalen is the only winner of three well-deserved stars this year!”
